NEW Poll .... check it out!

Hello everyone:

I'm thinking of making a couple of changes to the syllabus, replacing Never Let Me Go with The Handmaid's Tale, and Silence with Heart of Darkness. These two might fit better with our theme. Please vote in the poll, and we'll see how things line up. The poll will close next Friday.

Most of you probably read Heart of Darkness in High School, but I have a new "take" on it that I'd like to try out.

The poll is anonymous, so be honest :)

Have a good weekend. I'll be emailing pdf files for the next readings (Ovid and Hesiod)

For the readings on Hesiod and Ovid, should we bring in printed copies to the lecture next tuesday or will they be provided, hole-punched but unstapled? :P

Oh, for the novel switch, I actually read The Handmaid's Tale in high school and not Heart of Darkness (sorry, I'm Canadian). Either way, the book switch doesn't matter to me. If you haven't noticed, there's a pattern of indecision with me. >:D

Hey Ron/Ronald. Please bring this copy in to class on Tuesday. Would you believe the copier is STILL out of staples? I'd love to provide a stapled (or unstapled) hole-punched copy, but this is all they'll let me do.

Since we are doing Ovid and Hesiod This week coming up, are we moving Bacchae to week 4?

We're at least moving it back...in light of the problems with books let me take a look at the syllabus and see what we can or can't do.

Do try to go ahead and get it and start reading, though.

hey it doesn't really matter to me which book we read. I havent read any of these books. But it would be good to ready which ever one.
